During the discussion, Pereyaslavsky noted that relocating the construction of new hospitals to the east and south of the capital, as outlined in the General Plan, could negatively impact the transportation situation. This, in turn, may complicate access for emergency services to patients.

According to him, if the main medical centers are concentrated in one part of the city, it will hinder the work of ambulance doctors, who will have to cover long distances to provide assistance. "It is important to evenly distribute social facilities, such as hospitals and parks, throughout the city to ensure access to medical services," he emphasized.

The expert also raised the question of how patient transportation will be organized if large medical institutions are located in one area.

Irina Grishechkina, a developer of the General Plan from the St. Petersburg Research Institute of Urban Development, responded to these remarks, assuring that all existing hospitals will remain as they are. She noted that calculations indicate that Bishkek will need about 10 new medical facilities.

Grishechkina explained that the General Plan includes the creation of a republican hospital cluster and the construction of three new medical facilities. Meanwhile, work on determining their locations and parameters is ongoing in collaboration with the city administration, and the number of new institutions may be adjusted.

She added: "Our goal is to make the capital polycentric, so that residents can receive medical services in their neighborhoods without having to go to the city center. This will reduce the need for trips for medical assistance."

Grishechkina also assured that the future General Plan does not foresee the closure of existing hospitals, but rather the expansion of the healthcare system in accordance with the city's development.

It is worth noting that Bishkek still faces a serious problem with transporting patients to medical facilities due to traffic jams and a shortage of ambulances. This issue remains relevant, as every minute can be crucial in emergency situations.
