In Moscow, General-Lieutenant Fanil Sarvarov died in a car explosion

According to Petrenko, a criminal case has been initiated in connection with the murder of a serviceman. The investigation has established that the explosion occurred on Yasenevaya Street, and Sarvarov died from his injuries. He held the position of head of the operational training department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

The Investigative Committee of Russia reported that this case has been classified under Articles 105 and 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which pertain to murder by dangerous means and illegal trafficking of explosives. In order to solve the crime, experienced forensic investigators from the central office of the Investigative Committee have been sent to Moscow.

Currently, a scene examination is underway, and necessary examinations are being conducted, including forensic medical and explosive technical analyses. Additionally, investigators are questioning witnesses and reviewing footage from surveillance cameras.

The Investigative Committee noted that various versions of the murder are being considered, one of which involves the possible involvement of Ukrainian special services. The progress of the investigation is under the control of the central office of the agency, according to the published information.
