Vice Mayor of Bishkek, Azamat Kadyrov, announced plans to transform Kyiv Street as part of the discussion on the city's master plan. In 2026-2027, this street will become pedestrian, but with the possibility of public transport access.

The project, which will be implemented in the designated years, already has allocated funding. The first phase plans to launch electric buses on Kyiv Street.

According to the new master plan, the creation of tram lines on this street is also envisioned. The city hall reminded that Kyiv Street was designated as a transport-pedestrian area back in the Frunze Master Plan and in the Bishkek master plan of 2006.

The implementation of these changes is aimed at developing public transport, reducing the burden from cars, and improving urban infrastructure in the central part of the capital.
