On December 24, the press service of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of Bishkek presented a video capturing the last minutes of a capital resident's life.
In the footage provided by law enforcement, the suspect is seen entering the building with the deceased. The detained individual is holding flowers and a cake, which he brought for his ex-wife's birthday, celebrated on December 23. At 21:40 on December 23, a signal was received at the duty station reporting gunshots in an apartment of a multi-story building on Bokonbaeva Street, and a dead woman was discovered.
Arriving at the scene, investigators from the Sverdlovsk District Internal Affairs Department found that a quarrel had occurred between the former spouses, U.J., born in 1978, and U.B., born in 1977, related to the divorce process. During the conflict, the man used a traumatic pistol and shot his ex-wife, resulting in her death from the injuries sustained.
This incident has been registered as murder under Article 122 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The 48-year-old U.B. was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. At the time of his arrest, he was in a state of alcohol intoxication. The detainee had previously worked as an inspector in the Bishkek Traffic Police.
According to preliminary information, the sister of the deceased contacted the police for help in finding her. She reported that her former brother-in-law forcibly took her sister from work in an unknown direction.
