The Main Department of Criminal Investigation (GUBOP) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports on fraudulent activities related to messages being sent in the name of the president. These messages appear in messengers and social networks and contain a call to follow the provided link.
In an official statement, it is emphasized that neither the president of Kyrgyzstan nor government institutions distribute monetary "grants" or "gifts" through internet resources, messengers, or social networks.
GUBOP warned that such messages aim to deceitfully obtain users' personal data, access to their accounts, or bank cards.
It is important to remember:
• avoid clicking on suspicious links;
• do not enter your individual identification number (IIN), passport details, bank card numbers, or SMS codes;
• phrases such as "I have already received," "urgent," "only today" are typical signs of fraud;
• rely only on information from official sources.
If you have already entered your personal data or followed a link, urgently contact law enforcement by calling 102, the department added.
