Atambaev also pointed out the lack of basic conditions in SIZO: in particular, he highlighted the shortage of tiles and questioned the requirement for a short haircut. "I visited SIZO-1, and the conditions there are far from humane. A zero haircut twice a week is unacceptable. Ordinary staff are not responsible for this; they are just fulfilling their duties," he noted.
The deputy called for a review of these norms and the introduction of necessary changes.
This statement was responded to by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev, who promised to meet with the management of SIZO-1 and give instructions to address the identified problems.
In SIZO-1, Atambaev's younger brother, Kadyr Atambaev, as well as other supporters of former President Almazbek Atambaev, are also being held.
