However, as reported by Deputy Saltanat Amanova (district No. 6), in fact, this amount has only been 1% in recent years. She announced this information on December 23 at a joint meeting of several committees of the Jogorku Kenesh.
According to her data, in the report for 2024, the share of funding has increased to 1.5%.
“By 2026, we must achieve an increase in this indicator to 2%, which will amount to about 12 billion soms. According to the law, 22 billion soms should be allocated. This will significantly improve the work of cultural figures and allow for the development of cultural, spiritual, and other spheres,” she emphasized.
Finance Minister Almaz Baketaev, in response, noted that he does not support the idea of allocating funds as a percentage for various departments. “The allocated funds are not always used on time anyway. We cover almost 90% of the requested amounts. If additional funds are needed, we are ready to consider them,” he added.
Amanova noted that the allocation of funds should occur in accordance with the requirements of the law. She emphasized that culture and sports are areas that represent the country on the international stage, and it is unreasonable to economize on them.
