“Financial sanctions have started to be applied to students for absences, which is completely unacceptable. Academic accountability measures should be introduced for those who are absent without a valid reason. We have developed a practice in education that resembles indulgences. How can we improve the level of education for students if the only thing we do is collect money from them? This causes serious problems for students,” he emphasized.
Bekeshev urged Isamatova to stop this practice in universities.
“The main goal of universities is education, not profit. They have forgotten about this,” the deputy added.
