The deputy also pointed out the high cost of apartments
At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Gulya Kozhokulova emphasized the need for the development of mortgage housing specifically in the regions of the country.
She noted that Bishkek is experiencing uncontrolled growth in residential construction, while the infrastructure remains at the same level. This leads to problems such as a lack of parking spaces due to the increasing number of cars.
“Should we consider moving from Bishkek to the regions?” she addressed Talant Zhekshenov, the chairman of the State Mortgage Company. Kozhokulova also pointed out that the prices for housing from the State Mortgage Company are comparable to market offers from other construction companies.
“We offer some of the lowest prices on the market, almost half. For example, if apartments from the foundation cost 2000 dollars per square meter from other companies, our price is only 1000 dollars. Currently, 80 thousand apartments are under construction, which amounts to 5 million square meters of housing. To relieve the capital, more than 70 percent of this housing is being built in the regions,” Zhekshenov replied.
