At the recent meeting of the committee on labor, health, women's affairs, and social issues, Acting Minister of Health Kanibek Dosmambetov reported that the budget of the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund (MHIF) for 2025 will amount to 10 billion 340 million soms. This is 2 billion 12 million soms more than was previously planned.
He clarified that the initial budget of the MHIF for 2025 was set at 8 billion 327 million soms.
The budget increase was made possible due to additional allocations provided by a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, as well as contributions from the Social Fund and an increase in the number of insured citizens.
Dosmambetov also added that for the following year, 2026, it is planned to approve a budget of 10 billion 737 million soms. This amount includes 2 billion 57 million soms from the republican budget, 6 billion 503 million soms from the Social Fund, 954 million soms that will come from co-payments in medical institutions, as well as other sources of funding.
