At the meeting of the committee on labor, health, women's affairs, and social issues, Deputy Eldar Sulaymanov raised the issue of the necessity of opening a maternity ward in Kyzyl-Kyshtak, located in the Osh region.

According to him, the maternity ward, which was closed in April 2025, has created problems for local women, forcing them to travel to the city for childbirth, which carries the risk of not arriving at the hospital in time. Meanwhile, urban maternity hospitals are experiencing significant strain. Kyzyl-Kyshtak has a population of about 50,000 residents.

Previously, the maternity ward had 10 beds and did not record cases of maternal and infant mortality. After the closure of this facility, 13 medical workers were left without jobs.

The statistics on the number of births are as follows:

Sulaymanov suggested that the committee consider the possibility of reopening the maternity ward.

Additionally, the deputy drew the attention of Acting Minister of Health Kanibek Dosmambetov to the issue with the oncology and hematology department in the Osh regional hospital. He noted that there are only 30 rooms, and patients suffering from oncological diseases come for treatment from all over the southern part of the country. In one room, there are 4 children with their parents.

The deputy added that there is a plot of land measuring 15 acres on the hospital grounds, where a new building for the oncology and hematology departments could be constructed to improve treatment conditions for patients.

The committee on labor, health, women's affairs, and social issues decided to refer these matters to the budget committee for consideration.
