In accordance with the new changes, Article 232(1) has been renamed and is now called "Hunting, intentional destruction, as well as illegal acquisition, storage, transfer, or sale of the snow leopard (Central Asian leopard)." Previously, it was titled "Hunting and intentional destruction of the snow leopard."

The updated provisions of the Criminal Code introduce stricter penalties: hunting and other specified actions now carry fines ranging from 1200 to 1800 calculation indicators or imprisonment for up to three years. In the previous version, the fine ranged from 800 to 1200 indicators, and corrective labor for up to two years or imprisonment for up to three years was also provided.

In the case of repeated violations, law enforcement will impose fines from 2000 to 3000 calculation indicators (previously from 1500 to 2000) or imprisonment for a term of 4 to 8 years (previously from 3 to 5 years) with a possible deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in specified activities for up to 5 years.

Additionally, a new provision has been added to Article 236, concerning violations of the regime of specially protected natural areas and objects: if the damage is caused in a particularly large amount, the fine will be 500 indicators (the previous amount was 300).
