At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, the Minister of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations announced plans to revise the contract policy for universities. This decision was a response to students' complaints about high tuition fees.

Deputy Ulukbek Karybek uulu emphasized that despite the high costs, the quality of education leaves much to be desired. He inquired with Gulzat Isamatova about plans to address this issue.

Suyunbek Omurzakov also added that many students are forced to combine their studies with work to help their parents, which negatively affects their academic performance. He noted that fines for absences exacerbate the situation, forcing students to seek additional funds to cover them. According to the deputy, alternative measures should be considered, and in cases of frequent absences, a student may be expelled.

The minister pointed out that the moratorium on raising tuition fees had previously been lifted. She noted that universities use funds from contracts to pay their staff salaries.

“Given the increase in inflation, there is a need to raise teachers' salaries. We will not be able to do this as long as the amount of contracts remains the same. We receive many complaints from students, especially from regions, who cannot afford such amounts. We will definitely consider this issue,” the minister emphasized.
