The Jogorku Kenesh approved the candidacy of the new Minister of Science

Today, at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputies discussed the appointment of Gulzat Isamatova as the Minister of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations.

Parliamentarians asked the acting minister numerous questions, after which they unanimously supported her candidacy. A total of 78 deputies participated in the voting, of which 77 voted "for" and 1 voted "against".

Previously, Isamatova held the position of Vice-Rector for International Relations and Investments at the Kusein Karasaev Bishkek State University. Her appointment as acting minister was approved by President Sadyr Japarov on December 24.

The former minister Baktyyar Orozov was relieved of his duties for violating ethics. Traffic inspectors detained him in the village of Koy-Tash while he was in a state of alcohol intoxication.
