In connection with the tragic death of Zhibek U., who was murdered on December 23, the staff of the Musa Ryskulbekov National University of Economics expressed their condolences and published an obituary.
“We received the news with deep sorrow that Zhibek U. - the mother of three children and a lecturer at our university - passed away on her birthday. She was a bright and kind person, sincerely devoted to her work. Zhibek was respected by her colleagues and loved by her students; her kindness and humanity will forever remain in our hearts. This is an irreplaceable loss for all of us,” the statement from the educational institution noted.
The head of the Bishkek Department of Internal Affairs, Azamat Toktonaliev, commented on the murder, noting that alcohol was the cause of the tragedy. He expressed the opinion that perhaps everything could have turned out differently if it weren't for this factor, as well as the victim's birthday. Toktonaliev added that the suspect came with a cake and flowers to his ex-wife, and she agreed to leave with him. However, it later turned out that the cake and flowers were actually given to her by the university students in honor of her birthday.
