“It was her birthday, she voluntarily went with him”
Azamat Toktonaliev, head of the Bishkek Department of Internal Affairs, shared new information about the murder committed by a former police officer against his ex-wife.
According to his statement, the suspect retired in 2019, having served until retirement age, and had all the necessary permits for a traumatic pistol.
On December 23, the day of their official divorce, the former spouses met to celebrate the woman’s birthday. He came to her workplace with a cake and flowers, and she agreed to leave with him. The claims of abduction are not true.
The law enforcement agencies have a video recording showing the woman entering the apartment with the man and flowers. Additionally, the suspect contacted their son and informed him that he and his mother had reconciled.
According to Toktonaliev, the quarrel that occurred between them was provoked by alcohol and happened between 8:30 PM and 9:00 PM. At that moment, the woman called her sister, who, in turn, contacted the police.
The police were able to track the suspect's location via his car through the "Safe City" system. Upon arrival, they encountered the issue of the door not being opened, and they had to enter through a window. Inside, they found a drunken man and the body of the woman.
It should be noted that earlier the sister of the deceased had contacted the police, reporting that the ex-husband had taken her after work. Their divorce took place on the same day. Later, the woman was found dead in one of the apartments in Bishkek, with gunshot wounds as the cause of death. She left behind two children.
The suspect was an active user of social media, was interested in bodybuilding, and even attempted to run for the Bishkek City Council in 2021.
