The President of the Kyrgyz Republic, speaking at the IV People's Kurultai, emphasized that the issues of safety for women and children require special attention from the state and society.
He noted that there has been a recent increase in cases of violence, which negatively affects the public image and undermines its fundamental values.
“It is impossible to build a civilized society if we allow violence against the weak. We must stand against this. The state will take strict measures, and no criminal who has committed violence against a woman or a child will go unpunished — this is our principled position,” Japarov stated. Furthermore, the president announced the inclusion of measures to eradicate violence against women and children in the National Development Program until 2030. However, he emphasized that laws alone are not enough; societal attitudes must change.
“No tradition, no circumstance can justify violence. Every father should raise his son to respect women, and every mother should teach her daughter to defend her honor and stand against violence. Only in this way can we create a society where women are respected and children are protected,” the president added.
