Today, December 25, at the IV People's Kurultai, President Sadyr Japarov shared information about how the state used to purchase electricity from neighboring countries at inflated prices and then sold it to the population at significantly lower rates.

According to the president, this difference accumulated over many years, which in turn led to the formation of multi-billion dollar debts in the country's energy sector.

“At the moment, these debts are decreasing, and soon the energy sector will begin to operate without debt, which will allow generating income for further development. Dear Kyrgyz citizens, electricity is a resource that should be used wisely. We must not leave lights and household appliances on unnecessarily. We cannot allow energy to be wasted,” noted Japarov.

He also emphasized that caring for resources is an individual responsibility of every citizen, which in turn contributes to the overall security, economic development, and prosperity of the country.
