At the meeting of the People's Kurultai, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, emphasized that the time has come for the revival of the domestic film industry.

He noted that creating quality and competitive cinema requires a whole range of measures, including the modernization of film studios, support for local directors, screenwriters, and actors, as well as attracting private investments and modern technologies.

“It is necessary to breathe new life into Kyrgyz cinema so that our films can be showcased at international festivals, and the history of our people becomes a source of pride and cultural heritage,” said Japarov.

In addition, he noted that against the backdrop of the revival of cinema in the country, many other creative directions are also actively developing, such as theatrical productions, contemporary painting, documentary filmmaking, and national folklore. “We strive to ensure that Kyrgyz art has a worthy place on the world stages,” the president added.

Sadyr Japarov also emphasized that young people are seeking opportunities for self-expression through various forms of art, including music, theater, literature, and digital art.

“The state will support their initiatives, creative laboratories, and competitions to create conditions for the revelation of every talent,” he stated.

The president also highlighted the importance of strengthening international cultural cooperation.
“Kyrgyzstan, as an active participant in the global cultural dialogue, must represent its culture on international platforms, host foreign artists, and implement joint projects,” he stressed. According to him, culture is not an auxiliary sector but the heart of the country, which shapes values and the image of Kyrgyzstan in the eyes of the global community.

“By developing culture, we create strong connections between generations and strengthen the spiritual resilience of society,” he added, noting that Kyrgyzstan is now entering a period of cultural renewal, where attention is paid to the entire cultural ecosystem rather than individual elements.

The president emphasized that the state will actively work on the restoration and modernization of theaters, museums, and cultural institutions throughout the country so that every citizen has equal access to art and education.

He also highlighted intangible cultural heritage, including folk crafts and traditional music, as a priority area for support.
“These elements of culture shape our identity and distinguish us from other peoples. Culture must not only preserve the past but also boldly shape the future,” concluded Sadyr Japarov.
