Education is one of the key foundations for building a state and developing human capital. This was stated by the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, at the People's Kurultai.

He emphasized the need to provide youth with an education that not only keeps pace with global trends but also anticipates them.

“As part of the reform to transition to a 12-year education system, we will continue comprehensive modernization of the educational infrastructure and material and technical support. The 'Altyn Kazyq' program is our main orientation and defines the strategic direction for the development of education,” he added.

The transition to a modern 12-year model, updated textbooks, and the implementation of competency-based programs for the 21st century are steps that will help ensure the competitiveness of the young generation of Kyrgyzstan on the international stage. We aim to create an educational system focused on developing thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to innovate, rather than merely accumulating knowledge,” the president noted.

Significant steps are being taken in the area of infrastructure: 53 schools will be modernized to exemplary levels; 220 educational institutions will receive STEM laboratories and necessary equipment; half of the kindergartens, including those in remote and mountainous areas, will be connected to high-speed internet; at least 85% of teachers will be provided with laptops and modern digital teaching tools.

“However, education is not just about schools. It is a holistic ecosystem. Our goal is to transform universities into centers of learning, research, and innovation that will help the country transition to a knowledge-based economy. Innovative hubs, technoparks, and business incubators will be established in higher education institutions, where youth can launch startups, patent developments, and implement new technologies,” he added.

Sadyr Japarov highlighted the importance of training highly qualified specialists and personnel.

“We must acknowledge that Kyrgyzstan is facing a shortage of labor, low labor productivity, and a significant gap between the educational system and the real needs of the economy. Therefore, the development of dual education is not just a desire but a necessity dictated by the demands of time and the labor market. We must systematically strengthen this direction without delay. The dual education model allows youth to combine theory with practice, develop professional skills, and enhance responsibility,” he explained.

Young people strive to see the results of their studies and wish for employment even during their education, acquiring knowledge that will help them look confidently into the future. Dual education provides such an opportunity. Students, spending part of their time in production or various sectors, acquire not only theoretical knowledge but also real professional skills. With the active involvement of employers in training personnel, conditions are created for the formation of specialists demanded by the economy,” the president concluded.
