Kamchybek Tashiev, Deputy Chairman of the Government and Head of the State Committee for National Security, expressed his opinion on the murder of a woman by her ex-husband, who previously worked in the Traffic Police of Bishkek.

He emphasized that there is no justification for such crimes.

“Yesterday, the entire country was shocked and outraged by the news of the tragedy in which a woman, a mother of three children, was brutally killed. As a father, as a man, and as a representative of the state, I find it necessary to state clearly: there is no justification for such a crime, and there cannot be,” he noted.

According to him, words about “family conflicts,” “emotions,” “alcohol,” or “personal circumstances” do not matter when it comes to the cold-blooded taking of another person's life. “This is not a domestic quarrel. This is murder,” Tashiev added.

He also emphasized that the state must and will actively protect women and children.

“Anyone who raises a hand or, even more so, a weapon against a woman must know: the punishment will be severe and inevitable. The law in such cases knows no leniency,” he stated.

An investigation is currently underway, and the perpetrator will face strict punishment in accordance with the law. “This is our principled position—not for the sake of reporting, but for the sake of justice and the safety of citizens,” Tashiev added.

He expressed deep condolences to the children and relatives of the deceased, emphasizing: “The state is on the side of the victim, not of violence.”

The tragedy occurred in Bishkek on December 23, when the divorce process ended with tragic consequences. In the evening, around 9:00 PM, a 47-year-old woman was killed on her birthday. The suspect—her ex-husband, U.B.M., born in 1977—was detained.

According to information from the press service of the Bishkek City Police Department, a few hours before the incident, the court finalized the couple's divorce, and after that, a conflict occurred in their apartment on Bokonbaeva Street. During the quarrel, the 48-year-old man used a traumatic pistol “MP-79” and shot his ex-wife, who died from her injuries.

The police have initiated a criminal case under Article 122 (“Murder”) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The suspect has been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility.
