According to information from the press service of the Bishkek City Police Department, the couple had been divorced just a few hours before the tragedy. After the divorce, a quarrel broke out between them in an apartment on Bokonbaeva Street, during which the 48-year-old man used a traumatic pistol of the "MP-79" brand and shot his ex-wife, leading to her death.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 122 ("Murder") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The suspect has been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility.
As reported by the editorial office of "AKIpress Summary," one of the factors that led to the divorce was domestic violence. After the divorce proceedings, the woman went to work, but soon her sister contacted the police, reporting that her ex-husband had forcibly taken her in an unknown direction, possibly with a weapon in his possession.
In response to the received information, an "Interception" plan was implemented; however, it was not possible to save the woman. Now, two children are left without their mother.
Information about the detainee
U.B.M., originally from the Issyk-Kul region, was born on August 2, 1977. In the past, he held the position of senior lieutenant of the police and was an inspector in the Bishkek Traffic Police Department, which has now been disbanded. It is also known that he left the service before the establishment of the Special Police Unit.
The suspect is active on social media, where he shares his interests in powerlifting and bodybuilding. According to the Ministry of Justice, he is the founder and head of the public organization "Federation of the Paralympic Movement" called "World of Unlimited Opportunities."
Additionally, in 2021, he participated in the elections for the Bishkek City Council from one of the political parties.
