On December 25, the head of the Bishkek Department of Internal Affairs, Azamat Toktonaliev, commented on an incident that caused a wide public outcry. This concerns the case involving U.B., a former inspector of the Traffic Police, born in 1977.

The drama unfolded on December 23, when U.Z., born in 1978, was shot in an apartment on Bokonbaeva Street. The murder occurred on her birthday, following a quarrel with her ex-husband related to their divorce.

The next day, December 24, Toktonaliev shared information with journalists that attracted public attention.

In an interview with the editorial office of "AKIpress Digest," he emphasized that the police do not conceal suspects, even if they are former colleagues. "At the time of the incident, we had no information about his previous service in the police. We learned about it only at the crime scene from his relatives. He worked in the Traffic Police until 2019, after which he retired and became a fitness trainer," Toktonaliev reported.

He also added that the investigation is actively ongoing and all necessary evidence has already been collected. "The suspect provided detailed testimony during interrogations, which helps us establish all the circumstances of the incident," noted the head of the Department of Internal Affairs.

Furthermore, Toktonaliev assured that all reports of domestic violence are recorded, and measures are taken in response. "Each case has been under my personal control from the very beginning until completion. All reports of domestic violence are treated with special care. The Minister of Internal Affairs, Ulan Niyazbekov, emphasizes the importance of these issues at all meetings and gives strict instructions," he concluded.
