In Turkey, 115 suspects with links to ISIS were arrested, 'planning New Year's attacks'

According to official information, the police have detained 115 people, but searches are ongoing for another 22 suspects who are reportedly maintaining connections with ISIS militants outside of Turkey.

These events occurred just two days after Turkish intelligence conducted an operation against ISIS on the border with Afghanistan and Pakistan. As part of this operation, a Turkish citizen was detained, suspected of holding a leadership role in the local ISIS wing and accused of planning attacks on civilians.

Turkish law enforcement agencies are actively pursuing individuals suspected of links to ISIS, especially in light of the 900-kilometer border with Syria, where this group continues to operate in some areas. Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara, who maintains close ties with Ankara, expressed readiness to cooperate with the U.S. and Europe to eliminate the remaining elements of ISIS.

In response to recent events, on Friday, the United States began a series of airstrikes against ISIS positions in Syria following the deaths of three Americans.
