As part of the investigation conducted by the counter-terrorism department, the Istanbul public prosecutor's office received information about possible attacks on non-Muslims in the lead-up to the holidays. In this regard, operations were organized, including arrests, searches, and confiscations at 124 addresses. During the actions, law enforcement seized pistols, ammunition, and a large number of documents related to ISIS.

According to the public prosecutor's office, the investigation revealed that 137 suspects maintain contacts with conflict zones. The operation to detain the remaining suspects is ongoing, TASS reports, citing statements from the prosecutor's office.

As reported by sources to “Kommersant,” Turkey is considering changing the format of its military operations in Syria and Iraq. This decision comes against the backdrop of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), a long-time opponent of Ankara, announcing at the end of October the withdrawal of its forces from Turkish territory to northern Iraq. Despite this, Turkey's interests suggest the continuation of military missions, even if their primary reason—the activity of the PKK—is no longer relevant.
