An employee responsible for the table setting at the Élysée Palace stole tableware from the presidential residence for two years. According to Le Parisien, he was responsible for the theft of about a hundred items that were used at official events, including objects of France's cultural heritage.

According to the publication, the maître d', while handing over the stolen items to a collector working at the Louvre, led to the exposure of his crimes. As a result of his arrest, the stolen items were discovered, and the court decided to return them to their owner, establishing judicial control over the individuals involved in the case.
