Kyrgyzstan has submitted a bid to host two world wrestling championships, as reported by the Wrestling Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic in an interview with Sport AKIpress.

UWW President Nenad Lalovic visited Bishkek in early December.

“We have received the right to host the Asian Championship for adults in 2026. We also expressed our desire to organize two world championships in 2027 — for youth under 20 and for veterans,” noted the federation representatives.

Currently, the official UWW website lists Albania, Bulgaria, and Serbia as candidates to host the world championship (U-20) in 2027. The veteran world championship is planned to be held in Croatia and Mongolia.

Previously, Kyrgyzstan submitted a bid for the world championship (U-20) in 2026, but the right to host it was awarded to the USA.

It is worth noting that Kyrgyzstan has not yet had the opportunity to host world wrestling championships in any age category.
