The Eurasian Economic Commission has approved the theme "At Home on the Internet: Know Your Rights, Shop Consciously" as a key focus for its work in 2026. This decision was made at a meeting of the EEC board, where the corresponding recommendation for the Union states was supported.

The choice of this theme aims to draw public attention to issues related to the interaction between consumers and entrepreneurs in the digital space, as well as to strengthen trust between them.

In 2026, the EAEU countries plan to organize informational and educational events aimed at raising citizens' awareness of rights related to online shopping, as well as how to properly choose goods and services in the virtual environment. These initiatives will cover all residents of the five member states.

According to a survey conducted by the commission, 95 percent of citizens in the Union countries make purchases online, with 80 percent of them buying not only goods but also services. However, the issue of consumer rights violations in online trading is becoming increasingly relevant, as every second respondent has encountered such cases.

The theme for 2026 was proposed by the advisory committee on consumer rights protection of the Union countries based on the results of a public vote initiated by the EEC.
