In Russia, an active cleanup of questionable imports has begun, which has manifested in the suspension of certificates issued in the countries of the Eurasian Union. According to the president of the Association of Children's Goods Industry Enterprises, Antonina Tsitsulina, this decision is related to doubts about the quality of children's products—such as toys, clothing, and footwear—coming from Kyrgyzstan. She reported this.

Tsitsulina noted that this regulatory measure was expected, as there is a large amount of low-quality children's products on the market that have certificates from Kyrgyz partners.

In her opinion, the supplied goods do not meet the high standards established for children's products, which may threaten children's health and provoke exacerbations of chronic diseases. She emphasized that all products for children must be of impeccable quality.

The expert believes that control over imports into the Russian Federation is a necessary step.

“Unfortunately, as of today, about 65 percent of children's goods in our market are imports. This group of goods is extremely diverse, including products for infants and toys of all kinds. All children's products must undergo strict laboratory testing for safety. Currently, such protocols do not exist. In the future, importers should be required to conduct repeated studies on the territory of Russia,” added Antonina Tsitsulina.

Data on products is now automatically sent to the labeling system "Honest Sign." If a certificate turns out to be invalid, the product will not be able to pass through the checkout, and its sale in Russia will become impossible. Since the end of November, imports from the countries of the Eurasian Union have been under special control, clarified Olga Anokhina, head of the training customs center "Alta-Forum."

It should be noted that as of November 30, the requirements for documents from EAEU countries have been tightened, and changes have been made to the procedure for suspending declarations and certificates of conformity on Russian territory. Now, control authorities can suspend these documents upon detecting product discrepancies.

Upon receiving information from the Federal Customs Service about goods that have not undergone real testing, Rosakkreditatsiya automatically cancels the corresponding certificates and declarations on the territory of Russia.

The suspension of a certificate in Russia does not prohibit the sale of this product in other countries of the Eurasian Union. Russian authorities hope for a domino effect, as noted by Olga Anokhina.

Earlier, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan expressed protest against Belarus's initiative to expand the pilot project for customs authorities to check clothing and footwear within the approved risk areas, not only based on average cost and quantity but also on characteristics, trademarks, manufacturers, and countries of origin, including control of specific brands.
