
As of December 1, 2025, the official unemployment rate in Kyrgyzstan is 1.4 percent, according to the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration.
As of October 1, 2025, the country's population reached 7 million 374 thousand people, according to the National Statistical Committee.
The labor force consists of 2 million 861 thousand citizens, of which 2 million 756 thousand are employed, while 104.7 thousand people are unemployed. The overall unemployment rate is estimated at 3.7 percent.
The Ministry of Labor noted that as of early December, there were 58 thousand 565 unemployed registered with employment services. This is a 21.5 percent decrease compared to the same period last year. The number of officially registered unemployed is 39 thousand 841 people, which is 26 percent lower than last year.
- Among the registered unemployed, the majority — 23 thousand 422 people — have a general secondary education, of which 10 thousand 244 are women.
- 9 thousand 435 people have completed basic general education (grades five to nine).
- There are 2 thousand 586 unemployed with higher education, 2 thousand 447 with secondary vocational education, and 1 thousand 450 with initial vocational education.
- Seven people are registered without any initial education.
The Ministry emphasized that the state employment service is actively working to create conditions for the employment of citizens and to improve their professional qualifications.
