
In 2025, 4,315 citizens of Kyrgyzstan sought consultations regarding employment in South Korea under the EPS program.
The Employment Center for Citizens Abroad, operating under the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration, reported that according to the Memorandum with the Ministry of Employment and Labor of the Republic of Korea, since 2007, a program has been implemented for the employment of Kyrgyz citizens in South Korea through the issuance of work permits, which is renewed every two years.
As part of the program, two stages of testing in the Korean language were conducted, resulting in 1,350 individuals passing the exam, and 339 of them successfully completing the testing. 225 candidates signed employment contracts, and 232 Kyrgyz citizens, including 30 women, left for work.
The majority of employed citizens work in industries such as food, chemical, paper, as well as in factories producing plastic, rubber, and glass products. The average salary is $1,700. Currently, more than 1,500 citizens of Kyrgyzstan are working in South Korea under the EPS program.
