In 2025, the Ministry of Labor of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that 4,315 citizens of the country sought employment assistance in South Korea through the EPS program.
The agency noted that this program is implemented in accordance with a memorandum with the Ministry of Employment and Labor of the Republic of Korea, aimed at facilitating the employment of Kyrgyz citizens in Korea with the issuance of the relevant permits.
Since its launch in 2007, the program has been periodically extended every two years. This year, two rounds of Korean language testing were held, in which 1,350 people participated, of whom 339 passed the exam successfully. As a result, 225 people signed employment contracts, and 232 Kyrgyz citizens, including 30 women, went to work.
Labor migrants are mainly employed in enterprises in the food, chemical, and paper industries, as well as in factories producing plastic, rubber, and glass products. The average income is about 1,700 US dollars.
Currently, more than 1,500 citizens of Kyrgyzstan are working in South Korea under the EPS program.
