The State National Security Committee (GKNB) of Kyrgyzstan reported the dismantling of a transnational criminal group. During the operation in the Osh region, 15 citizens of Uzbekistan and 10 citizens of Kyrgyzstan were detained. Additionally, two employees of the State Customs Service were arrested, including a shift supervisor, as well as one serviceman from the State Border Service.
According to the GKNB, this criminal organization systematically engaged in the smuggling of expensive medical supplies and jewelry from Turkey to Kyrgyzstan for sale in the Osh region, as well as subsequent export to Uzbekistan.
During a baggage check of passengers on the "Istanbul – Osh" flight, conducted jointly with the State Border Service and the "Osh" customs, significant quantities of medical goods and jewelry were discovered among some citizens of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
As a result of investigative and operational activities related to the smuggling criminal case, the organizers and active participants of the group were arrested: three citizens of Uzbekistan (U.B.K., I.M.T., and S.U.A.) and five citizens of Kyrgyzstan (I.Z.M., M.B.P., M.U.K., K.Sh.H., and S.B.K.).
It has been established that during 2025, the criminal group made more than 50 trips from Turkey and smuggled over 50 kg of gold, resulting in significant losses for the state budget.
Currently, work continues to identify other officials connected to the activities of this group, as well as to assess the damage caused and to hold all guilty parties criminally liable, according to the GKNB report.
