In a statement, the press service of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) reported the detention of former leaders of the GNS. The incident occurred during an investigation into abuse of office.
According to law enforcement agencies, A. M. and U. S. were arrested on December 8 and 10, who held managerial positions in the central apparatus audit department of the GNS. During the investigation, it was revealed that they, together with the former chairman of the GNS A. A., used their official powers to extort money from entrepreneurs.
Special services believe that A. M. and U. S. were the main figures in this corruption scheme.
The detainees are currently held in the SCNS temporary detention facility.
