Putin also emphasized that "attacks on children are particularly heinous crimes," assuring that the investigation will be conducted thoroughly and those responsible will face full punishment. Rahmon, for his part, noted that such crimes are manifesting in the modern world and thanked Putin for his active involvement in the investigation.

The incident occurred on December 16, when a 9th-grade student armed with a knife and pepper spray burst into a school, intending to attack a mathematics teacher. When a security guard attempted to stop the teenager, he sprayed gas in the guard's face and stabbed him. Ultimately, the boy also injured another student and fatally struck a fourth grader.

The Investigative Committee of Russia has opened a criminal case under Articles 105 and 30 of the Criminal Code, concerning murder and attempted murder. The attacker has confessed to his guilt and reported on the preparation for the crime.
