The Acting Minister of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations Gulzat Isamatova noted that private universities have the opportunity to independently determine the fees for students' missed classes.

During the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on December 25, she explained that there is a practice in each university of charging for missed classes if there is a valid reason. For example, with a contract of 60,000 soms for 60 credits per year, the cost of missing one subject amounts to 1,300 soms, as 60 credits are divided by 60.

“This is not advisable. It is necessary to introduce academic penalties and additional classes. We will create a working group to address this issue,” Isamatova added.
