At a recent public hearing dedicated to the master plan for the development of Bishkek until 2050, emphasis was placed on the placement of medical facilities and the accessibility of emergency care. The press service of the city mayor's office reported this.

Dmitry Pereyaslavsky, an expert in urban greening, expressed concerns about relocating medical facilities outside the central part of the city after reviewing the master plan materials.

“How will ambulance crews be able to quickly deliver patients if major hospitals are located in the southeastern part of the capital with such high traffic congestion?” the expert questioned.
Pereyaslavsky noted that it is important to evenly distribute social facilities, including hospitals and parks, throughout the city, rather than moving them outside its boundaries.
In response to the raised questions, Irina Grishechkina, the developer of the master plan and a specialist from the Saint Petersburg Research Institute of Urban Development, noted that all existing medical facilities in Bishkek will be preserved. According to her, the city will need about ten additional new hospitals.

According to the master plan, the creation of a separate republican medical cluster and three new medical institutions is planned. Grishechkina added that work is ongoing to clarify the parameters and placement of facilities in collaboration with the city administration, and the number of new hospitals may change in the future.

She emphasized that the main goal of the master plan is to reduce the need for trips to the city center for medical services. The concept envisions that residents will be able to receive treatment and medical care in their neighborhoods, which should reduce transportation load and improve the accessibility of emergency care.

Grishechkina assured the residents of Bishkek that the new master plan will take into account the preservation of the existing network of hospitals and its phased expansion within the framework of the polycentric development of the capital.
