- The total area of Bishkek is 41,081.3 hectares, of which 31% is in private hands, as reported by Irina Grishechkina, Deputy Director for Project Issues at the Institute of Urban Planning, during the discussion of the city’s master plan until 2050.

According to her report, 60% of the land remains unregistered in the unified state cadastral system, 5% of the land belongs to municipal authorities, and 4% is under state management.

“The formation of a financial and logistics center, diversification of the economy, and ensuring the economic security of the city, as well as creating a comfortable urban environment — these are the main tasks of the new master plan,” noted Grishechkina.

As part of economic development, the expansion of social and urban infrastructure is planned, including the construction of parks, squares, educational and medical institutions. Special attention is planned to be given to the creation of public and business centers in different areas of the city, which will provide residents with access to services, transportation, and cultural events.

According to forecasts, by 2050, the population of Bishkek will grow to 1.92 million people, and the total construction volume will be about 26 million cubic meters.
