PM2.5 refers to particles smaller than 2.5 microns, their diameter is 30 times smaller than that of a human hair. These particles include dust, ash, soot, as well as sulfates and nitrates that are suspended in the air. They contribute to the deterioration of air quality typical of large cities.
On a global level, as of January 29, Bishkek ranks 29th (11:00) in the air quality rating.
