The State Service for the Execution of Punishments (GSIN) commented on the information regarding damages amounting to 15.9 million soms related to the purchase of fish at inflated prices. As reported by the GSIN press service, a tender was held this year for the supply of fish for prisoners, in which three companies participated, and the winner was the company "Akuel".
According to the agency, the fish was supplied at inflated prices. In October 2025, the chairman of GSIN initiated an audit conducted by the internal audit department, which established damages of 15 million 900 thousand soms. The Main Department of Internal Investigations was tasked with conducting an additional investigation, as a result of which relevant materials were collected," noted the GSIN.
Additionally, all collected materials were submitted to the prosecutor's office for legal assessment in November. Currently, the supervisory authority is carrying out investigative actions.
The GSIN also emphasized that the management regularly initiates similar checks.
Previously, the General Prosecutor's Office reported that this year GSIN officials purchased frozen fish at inflated prices, resulting in financial damage to the state amounting to 15.9 million soms.
