On December 25, at the IV People's Kurultai, a delegate from the Jayil District of the Chui Region, Mirlan Jusupbekov, raised an important issue concerning residents living near the Kara-Balti Alcohol Plant and China Petrol Company. They express dissatisfaction due to the constant unpleasant odor that complicates their daily lives.

“We support the development of the region, but this should not come at the expense of people's health,” emphasized Jusupbekov.

He also noted that in the villages of Petropavlovka, Novonikolaevka, and Suusamyr, local residents still use old and worn-out pipes, which creates additional problems.

Furthermore, the delegate reported a shortage of irrigation water in the lower part of the Chui Canal, which is related to the siltation of reservoirs and losses of up to 40% of water. “The reservoirs built during the Soviet period are filled with silt by 50%. From the canal, 30-40% of water is lost, seeping into the ground. The farmer is ready to work, but without water, he finds himself helpless,” he added.

Jusupbekov also reminded about the previously raised issue of constructing a new reservoir in the Taldy-Bulak Valley, emphasizing the need not to forget about this matter.
