It was officially announced that Álvaro Arbeloa has been appointed as the head coach of "Real Madrid" after the team suffered a defeat to "Barcelona" with a score of 2:3 in the Supercopa de España final. This decision followed a disappointing result and was a consequence of the club's management's dissatisfaction with the team's performance.

Xabi Alonso, who managed the team for 28 matches, is leaving the club, leaving it in second place in La Liga with 45 points after 19 games, just four points behind the leader, "Barcelona." Despite a fairly positive win-loss record, the management expressed concerns about tactical stagnation and insufficient stability in crucial matches.

Álvaro Arbeloa, who previously led "Castilla" since June 2025, has extensive experience working in the "Real" academy, where he coached U14, U16, and U19 teams. Under his leadership, the U19 youth team won three trophies in the 2022-2023 season (League, Copa del Rey, and Champions Cup) and the League in the 2024-2025 season.

In his new role, Arbeloa aims to stabilize the team's performance, restore clarity and intensity to its displays, and strengthen "Real's" position in the second half of the season on all fronts. It is worth noting that player support remained on Alonso's side, who emphasized that the responsibility for results should be shared between the coach and the players.
