The Football Association of Maldives (FAM) has officially confirmed that Istvan Urbanyi, a Hungarian coach, will once again take the position of head coach of the national team. In addition to this role, he will also serve as the technical director, which entails responsibility for the development of football infrastructure in the country.

Urbanyi has previously worked with the Maldives national team from 2009 to 2010 and from 2011 to 2013, during which he achieved significant success in regional competitions and elevated the team's performance. Now, after 12 years, he returns with the aim of improving the coaching process, implementing modern training methods, and preparing the team for international challenges.

FAM noted that Urbanyi's appointment is part of a long-term strategy for the development of football in the country, which includes training young players, improving infrastructure, and enhancing the competitiveness of the national team both at the South Asian level and in Asia as a whole.

Istvan Urbanyi is known for his emphasis on tactical discipline and the development of youth teams, and the Maldives leadership is confident that this will be the foundation for the national team's future successes.
