On January 2, the Olympic football team of Kyrgyzstan in the U-23 age category landed in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) to participate in the final stage of the U-23 Asian Cup 2026, as reported by the Kyrgyz Football Federation (KFS).
The competition will begin on January 6 and will gather the 16 best youth teams from Asia. This participation will be historic for the Kyrgyz team, as they have qualified for the tournament's final stage for the first time thanks to their success in the qualifying matches held in September 2025 under the guidance of head coach Edmar Lacerda.
