Today, January 5, a press conference was held in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), where the head coaches and captains of the teams in Group A shared their thoughts on the upcoming matches of the AFC U-23 Asian Cup.

From Kyrgyzstan, head coach Edmar Lacerda and team captain Said Datsiev spoke at the event.

“Our goal in this tournament is to show quality and attractive football. We understand that we are in a tough group with strong opponents, but our team is ready to take on this challenge. We have had good preparation and are eager to demonstrate our best level of play,” Lacerda noted.

He also added: “We have studied our opponents carefully. Vietnam is a strong team with a high level of technique, and they are currently in good shape under the guidance of an experienced coach. The group is very strong, and we are in for a challenging journey.”

“It is important for us to start the tournament successfully with the first game,” emphasized the head coach of the Kyrgyzstan national team.

The first match for the Kyrgyz team will be against the Saudi Arabian national team on January 6, with the kickoff scheduled for 22:00 Bishkek time.

In Group A, the teams of Vietnam and Jordan will also compete.
