Today, January 12, the national football team of Kyrgyzstan (U-23) will play its third match at the Asian Youth Cup, which is taking place in Saudi Arabia.

The Kyrgyz team will face the team from Jordan, with the match scheduled to start at 22:30 Bishkek time.

In the current Group A standings, Jordan is in second place with 3 points, while Kyrgyzstan is in fourth place with no points. The Kyrgyz team has a chance to advance to the playoffs: they need to win against the Jordanians by at least two goals and hope that Vietnam defeats Saudi Arabia.

At the Olympic level, the teams of Kyrgyzstan and Jordan have met three times.

The first match took place at the Asian Games in 2014 in Korea, where the teams faced off in the Round of 16. The regular time ended without goals, but in extra time, the Jordanians managed to score two goals and won 2-0.

The following year, the teams met again in the qualifying tournament for the Asian Cup, held in Al Ain (UAE), and that time the Kyrgyz team suffered a heavy defeat with a score of 0-4.

In 2019, Kyrgyzstan and Jordan found themselves in the same group during the qualifying stage for the Asian Cup, which took place in Kuwait. In the second round match, the Jordanians confidently won 3-0, with one of the goals scored by the star of the current national team of Jordan, Musa Al-Tamari.
