Edmar Lacerda, the head coach of the Kyrgyzstan national football team (U-23), shared his opinion on the referee's performance in the match against Saudi Arabia.
The first round match of the group stage of the Youth Asian Cup took place on January 6 in Jeddah and ended with a victory for the host team with a score of 1:0.
The match referee, Fu Ming from China, sent off one of the Kyrgyzstan players in the 35th minute and awarded a penalty against the Kyrgyz team in the 77th minute.
At the post-match press conference, Lacerda answered a question about the officiating.
“I never doubt the work of the referee; I believe in my abilities and in the team. However, some of the referee's decisions today raised questions for me. We will try to focus on the next match,” he noted.
Fu Ming became known to the fans of the Kyrgyzstan national team during the 2019 Asian Cup when he officiated the Round of 16 match against the UAE, where his decisions also sparked controversy among the spectators.
