At the beginning of the U-23 Asian Cup tournament, which is taking place in Saudi Arabia, the Kyrgyzstan national team faced the hosts of the tournament.

In the 34th minute of the match, Arsen Sharshenbekov was sent off, leaving the team with a numerical disadvantage for most of the game.

Kamchybek Tashiev, the president of the Kyrgyz Football Union and head of the State National Security Committee, was watching the game. Earlier, he had posted a video on social media where he performed Umrah in Saudi Arabia.

The U-23 Asian Cup started on January 6, featuring 16 teams. The Kyrgyz team, making its debut in this tournament, is in Group "A" along with Vietnam, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia. The next match for the Kyrgyz team will be on January 9 against Vietnam.
