The Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations suggests that educational institutions, regardless of their ownership form, cease imposing fines on students for missing classes and internships.

According to the ministry's press service, this recommendation is aimed at protecting students' rights, as well as fostering fair approaches to discipline and preventing unjust financial penalties in the educational sector.

The Ministry of Science also advises using alternative academic measures that are not related to monetary punishments, in accordance with current legislation.

As part of implementing this initiative, the ministry plans to amend the legislative acts regulating the activities of higher education and secondary vocational institutions.

Previously, the issue of financially penalizing students for absences was raised by some deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh. Acting Minister of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations Gulzat Isamatova agreed that this is incorrect and that academic disciplinary measures, such as compensatory work, should be applied.
