Aibek Matkerimov, the First Deputy Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, visited the infectious diseases hospital of the Osh City Clinical Hospital.

During his visit, Matkerimov familiarized himself with the system of providing medical assistance to patients suffering from acute respiratory viral infections and influenza, as well as assessed the current utilization of the hospital bed capacity amid rising morbidity rates.

Shayat Abdurakhmanov, the hospital director, reported that the hospital has 270 beds: 180 of which are designated for children, while the rest are for adults. During the season of increased morbidity, there is a rise in the number of patients seeking help; however, all those in need receive the necessary medical assistance.

It should be noted that in recent years, partly due to administrative-territorial changes, both the area and the population of Osh have increased, creating additional pressure on medical institutions and leading to a temporary rise in hospital occupancy rates.

Following the meeting, Matkerimov provided a number of recommendations, including organizing the admission of adult patients in alternative departments, as well as maximizing the use of the infectious diseases hospital to assist children, who are the most vulnerable group during seasonal infectious diseases.

Additionally, he instructed to strengthen compliance with sanitary and epidemiological standards, ensure clear patient routing, maintain uninterrupted operation of medical staff, and control the quality of the provided assistance.
